The paper systematically talks about oversea students’ errors of homophone writing. Wecollected oversea students’ compositions and homework in order to select related data. Andaccording to the data, we made a comprehensive investigation on the errors. The result ofinvestigation will promote the development of Chinese character teaching.The main structure of this paper is as following:Chapter1talks about the reasons of selecting this topic, concludes other scholars’researching achievements and introduces researching methods and makes a brief introduction ofthe paper. It is the basis of the whole paper.Chapter2describes some related theories of Chinese character learning, they are theory ofcomparative analysis, acculturation hypothesis and inherent outline hypothesis.Chapter3analyzes oversea students’errors of homophone writing at the basis of concludingtheir homework and compositions and then finds the inherent law of their errors.Chapter4analyzes the reasons of producing oversea students’errors from the aspects of thecomplexity of homophone, teaching material format and situation of learning and teaching. Afterthis, we propose some related measures to guide Chinese character teaching.Chapter5is the conclusion.
