There are a lot of homophones in Chinese characters,and the teaching of homophone is an important part of the teaching Chinese characters in Chinese as a foreign language.The degree of mastery to homophones affects the effectiveness of Chinese learning for foreign students.At the same time,in the field of Chinese as a foreign language,the study of homophone is far less than the study of Chinese phonetics,vocabulary,grammar and other elements.In the process of writing Chinese characters,foreign students always have severe homophone error phenomenon.Therefore,it is necessary to make a thorough investigation and research on the error of homophone writing of the foreign students.First of all,this paper will has a related research on the ontology teaching of Chinese characters to foreigners,homophone teaching.Then from the commonly used Chinese characters table of the international curriculum for Chinese language education count 569 groups of homophones,it will screen 58 homophones with homophone error rate above 30% as research object and conclude homophone error types according to the statistics results of HSK dynamic composition corpus.Finally it will analyze error causes from different angles and give some suggestions on how to carry out the homophone teaching of foreign students.This article is divided into five chapters.Chapter 1 Introduction.First it introduces the reasons of this topic,then sort out previous studies on the ontology teaching of Chinese characters to foreigners,homophone teaching and summarize problems existing in the studies.Finally it gives a briefly description on purpose,ideas and methods of this paper.Chapter 2 The Definition,Classification and Error Situations of Homophone.First it is combined with previous studies to define the homophone,then count the number of homophones from international curriculum for Chinese language education and sorted out the grade distribution to find out the high error rate of the 58 groups of homophones in HSK dynamic composition corpus based on the statistical character.Chapter 3 An Analysis of Homophones Errors of Foreign Students.It includes two parts.The first part is a detailed explanation on the error situations of 58 groups of high-frequency homophones,and it is summarized from two angles: misuse of grade and one-way /two-way error.The second part is the classification of the homophone errors types,58 groups of high-frequency homophones can be divided into four different categories: words with similar forms and meanings,words with differ forms and similar meaning,words with similar forms and irrelevant meaning,words with differ forms and meaning.At the same time,the analysis is combined with the specific homophone group.Chapter 4 The Causes of Foreign Students' Homophone Errors.It mainly from the following three angles to make a comprehensive analysis to the causes of homophone error.Number1:From analysis to Chinese characters of its own characteristics;Number2: From the perspective of students;Number3: From the perspective of teachers and teaching materials.Chapter 5 The Teaching Strategies of Homophone for Foreign Students.First of all,teachers should adopt flexible teaching methods,including the unified teaching on sound,form,and meaning of the word strategy and radical differentiation method and double syllable word recurrence method;Secondly,we should increase contents of homophone when compiling textbooks.Lastly,Chinese teachers should strengthen the researches of homophone teaching.The author hopes all these strategies can bring some help to Chinese teachers.Through this paper,we hope to summarize the reasons for the error of the homophone of foreign students in a more comprehensive way,and hope that the teaching strategy of homophone can bring some help to the Chinese teachers.
