As we all know, the globalization and international communication become more andmore vital and essential. And the translation activity is increasingly frequent.Therefore, the requirements and demands for translators have more and more invarious areas. The study of translation has spread from traditional literary translationto various areas of applied translation. Therefore, the duty of colleges anduniversities has been shifted from explaining the translation theory to educating thetranslation talents. German functionalist translation theory is one of the mostimportant theory bases. The German translation theoreticians such as Reiss, Nordand Britain translation theoretician Newmark, they all referred the text type theoriesand elaborated them in detail. Many Chinese translation scholars who are Mu Lei,Zhang Meifang, and Ping Hong and so on also apply the text typology theories to thetranslation teaching in colleges and universities. So, the teaching of text types hasbecome more and more vital with the development of translation teaching. How tocomplete the application of text typology and the relevant translation strategies in thetranslation teaching is an urgent problem we are facing now. In China, the combinedstudy of text type theory and translation has been promoted by some linguists andtranslation researchers in a moderate quantity, but it is still rare to apply text type theory to translation teaching.The paper aims to analyze the translation teaching from the perspective of the Nord’sText Typology Theory with the combination of Newmark’s translation methods andtranslation strategies. Through the research of the process and contents of translationteaching, some advisable translation teaching methods and translation strategiesaiming to promote the translation teaching developing better and faster.The primary research contents of the paper are the translation teaching basic theoriesand translation methods in universities. The author put forward some advisablesuggestions on the referred relevant translation in teaching, the preparation ofpre-translation activity as well as the translation subjects (native culture, teachingmodels, translational aptitude) and objects (attitude of study, the basic of originallanguage, consciousness of text).The research method of the paper is qualitative research. The author checks andcollects a great number of articles and journals and books on the text typology theoryand makes full of studying and analyzing. And the author also hopes profoundly thatit will provide a new field of vision of translation teaching study to improve andameliorate domestic translation teaching in colleges more effectively.
