Communicative Translation Strategies Of C-E Translation Of Scientific Papers

China’s science and technology develops rapidly in recent years. Scientific andtechnological exchanges between China and other countries become more and morefrequent. Scientific and technology translation as a bridge between Chinese andforeign scientific and technological exchanges, is an indispensable part of the processof domestic and international scientific and technological exchanges. Engineeringgeological papers translation study, as a branch of translation technology, plays animportant role in domestic and foreign scientific and cultural cooperation andacademic exchanges. Research of engineering geology can enrich the translationmethods and case studies in the field, provide a reference for geological papers andpromote the exchanges and development in the geology field.The technology subjects are features of Ocean University of China. A lot ofscientific and technological knowledge is gained, and a lot of science and technologytranslation is done during my postgraduate study. Combined with the engineeringgeological papers translation features and the situation, engineering geological papersare chosen as the topic.The translation report is divided into an introduction, the text background andtranslation process, translation theory and case analysis, task summarizes andconclusion. The introduction mainly introduces the current situation of scientific andtechnology translation and the topic choosing process. The second chapter putsforward the features of scientific and technology translation, communicativetranslation strategies and difficulties of the translation practice. The third chapter iscases study, analyzing jargon and phrase translation, sentence integration, formatconversion of engineering geological papers translation. The fourth chaptersummarizes my personal experience gained from this translation practice, includingtranslation preparation, resources and tools applications. Finally, a translation reportsummary is made in the last part. New understanding and experience on translation methods and techniques inthis field is gained from this practice. This paper can provide reference for personnelwho are engaged in the translation and study of scientific papers.
