Report On The Chinese Translation Of The Excerpts From Chinese Business Etiquette And Culture

Globalization and China’s entry into WTO lead to an increasing number of exchanges and cooperation in all fields between China and nations all over the world. However, inefficiency and misunderstandings among all kinds of exchanges and cooperation, to some extent, tend to occur because of the cultural differences between the East and the West.Based on the fact above, the translation practice selects some chapters from the book-Chinese Business Etiquette and Culture as the translation task. One purpose is to have Chinese learn about what Chinese business etiquette and culture are from the perspective of foreigners; the other is to promote the exchanges and cooperation in all aspects to move forward more widely and more smoothly. Therefore, there is no necessity to suspect the significance of this translation task.The practice report includes four parts:The first chapter briefly introduces the topic and the theoretical framework of the report and the research method adopted in the report.The second chapter describes the translation task and introduces the author, the book written by him and the whole translation process.The third chapter is about case study. It explores the problems in the first poof. And some corrections are made through contrastive analysis between the first proof and the final proof. Meanwhile, some translation strategies and translation skills are used for the revision in order to make the translation smoother and more loyal to the original.The fourth chapter talks about the translator’s translation feelings, gains and suggestions.
