Translation Practice Report

This translation practice report is based on my translation task of The Script of the Orient Culture Park, including the introduction, research and summary about procedure and completion of the task. This report consists of four major parts, the task description, the procedure description, the case analysis and the summery & conclusion. The task description and procedure description give an overall introduction about the task, including the introduction of the client, the specific requirement of the task, the introduction of the translation text and the detailed steps to fulfill the task etc. The case analysis part is the essence of this report, using the English version of Orient Culture Park Script as analyzing material. I this part, I conduct an analysis about its style characteristics, then an initial research and exploration is made on the subtitle translation strategy and skills. Finally, aiming at the errors and problems in the translation, I conduct an analysis about them. In the summery & conclusion part, I generalize some translation strategies and skills on subtitle translation, and talk about some my feelings through the fulfillment of the task.
