The Practice Report On Meeting Press Chinese-English Interpretation Under The Guidance Of Interpretative Theory

With the development of reform and opening, China’s comprehensive national strength is increasing. International exchanges on politics, economy and culture are frequent. In order to provide a better service to our country’s development, the interpreting activities are increasing. China is playing a more and more important role in economic field, such as financial, currency and so on. And the whole world is paying great attention to China’s economic policies. Therefore, every time the China’s Central Bank Governor who meets the press attracts people’s focus.The conference press of fifth session of the11th National People’s Congress was held in Media multi-function Hall on12th of March in2012. The press lasted more than one hour, and the main leaders of Central Bank answered to the reporters’ questions on "monetary policies and financial reform". Because of the fast and lasting growing economy, more and more people pay their attention to China’s economy. Therefore, this conference attracted many news agencies from the world.The paper is based on the interpretation practice of the Central Bank Governor met the press in2012and it is guided under the sense-based theory.It makes full use of three steps of sense-based theory, that is, comprehension, deverbalisation and re-expression and they are used into the real practice, and then the author analyzes these interpretation materials. The author tries to find out the meanings for the interpretation practice, especially in the consecutive interpretation and summarize the findings.The paper will discuss interpretation strategies based on the sense-based theory in interpretation process. In this paper, interpretation case will be analyzed to help explain the process of interpretation and summarize key points. The author hopes to share experience with other interpreters and contribute to the improvement of MTI program.
