Corpus-Based Study On The Distribution Of Meaning Items In Modern Chinese Moral Character Semantic Field Representative Characters

The core of dictionary compilation is item interpretation,and the key to dictionary compilation is word-collection.Modern Chinese Dictionary belongs to standard type-language dictionary,its item interpretation and words collcets are in under the guidance of theories.Combine theories to corpus-based study,we can get breakthroughs of compiling and researching of Modern Chinese Dictionary.This article selects representative characters of moral character semantic field in Modern Chinese Dictionary,they are:’Mei’、 Chou’、’Jian’、’Qin’’Lan’.Using theories to guide corpus analysis,in order to review the item interpretation of representative characters above in Modern Chinese Dictionary.And then,providing our suggestions for their improvements.This article is divided into three parts.The introduction briefly discusses the studying meaning of representative characters of character semantic field, word-collection in all kinds of dictionaries especially Modern Chinese Dictionary,research methods,innovation,corpus source and professional terms.The second part from the first chapter to chapter five.In first chapter, quoting the theories of meaning narrows,we suggest’Mei’increases’beautiful woman’ and ’advantage;benefit’.In chapter two,’Chou’should adjust its item after carding the item.We can add another two item of’Jian’in the third chapter,they are’cunning and evil people ’and’bad thing;malicious’.In chapter four,By analysing item extension,’toil;hard’ in ’Qin’can be found.Fifth chapter is about ’Lan’,we can find an item of it:’hate;unwilling’.Part three is Conclusion, carding the distribution of meaning items of representative characters above, summarizing the interpretation laws of moral character semantic field words in Modern Chinese.
