A Report On The Simulated C-E Consecutive Interpreting For The Charm Of Nature Under The Guidance Of Interpretive Theory

Documentary is a bridge between culture and culture.Among them,natural documentary records the characteristics of natural features.The quality of interpreting for documentaries is a common issue affecting China’s overseas circulation and acceptance.The interpreting of documentary is not only the interpretation from words to words,but also the connection between culture and culture.In recent years,Chinese natural documentaries have increased greatly and their quality has also improved a lot,attracting many interpreting enthusiasts and professionals to interpret and research.This report takes the documentary "The Charm of Nature" of CCTV(China Central Television)as the corpus for consecutive interpreting,hoping to provide reference for the interpreting practice and theoretical research of natural documentaries in the future.The interpretive theory is an important achievement of the French interpretive school.The triangular model proposed by the interpretive theory,namely,understanding,breaking away from the shell of the source language(de-verbalization)and reformulation,has an important impact on the interpreting field.The interpretive theory holds that the interpreters should grasp the speaker’s central thought according to the context,so as to convey the speaker’s thought to the target audience.Under the guidance of interpretive theory,through this practice,the author the author has found her own shortcomings,such as lack of background knowledge,overcomes the lack of background knowledge by strengthening pre-interpreting preparation,and solves the fragmentation of the target language by means of strategies such as omission,addition,division and combination,etc.This report finds that long-term interpreting practice and flexible use of interpreting strategies play an important role in the process of interpreting.This report discusses the consecutive interpreting of natural documentaries in order to provide experience and lessons for interpreting enthusiasts and learners.
