This thesis is based on the “Stories of Twelve Emperors of the Qing Dynasty—Emperor Yongzheng” from Lecture Room.It was delivered by Mr Yan Chongnian and the translation form is Chinese-English consecutive interpretation. In recent years, some distorted films and TV series make the audience misunderstand the history. In order to clarify the facts, the Lecture Room issued the “Stories of Twelve Emperors of the Qing Dynasty”.At the same time, with the advancement of China, more and more foreigners would like to know about China's national condition, culture and history. It is a good way to learn Chinese culture and history by knowing something about the Qing Dynasty. So,the writer chose this lecture to interpret. It can not only help disseminate Chinese culture but also provide some convenient channels for foreigners to know Chinese history. The thesis takes the Interpretive Theory as its theoretical basis.According to the theory, interpretation can be divided into three phases: comprehension, deverbalization and re-expression.This theory helps the writer analyze problems as well as achieve targeted solutions. The thesis consists of four parts, namely, task description, task implementation, case study and conclusion. It has a discussion on the difficult points, principles of problem-solving,and then proposes five possible solutions--conversion,fuzzy approach, supplementation, deletion and reconstruction. It is expected that this thesis may offer some help to interpreters when they come across similar problems.
