In a globalized world, cultural diversity is particularly important andvaluable. The intimate international exchanges make English playincreasingly important role in people’s lives, and the film has become theprimary way to understand other cultures. Therefore, the interpretation ofthe film dialogue has also become the important aspect of the study oftranslation.This paper selected the movie He’s Just Not That Into You as thetranslation practice material, in which the translation theory ofdomestication, foreignization and other relevant theories were used asguidance in the practice. During the translation, several translationmethods such as concentration, condensation, omission and amplificationhad been applied into the practice.This report consists of four parts: Part one introduces the purposeand significance of the movie dialogue translation. Part two is mainly onthe type of the selected movie, the analysis of the main contents and abrief introduction of the theories used. Part three points out thedifficulties of the interpretation, and examples were analyzed. Part foursummarizes the lessons, implication and unsolved problems in thisproject. |
