As a consecutive interpretation in English to Chinese and Chinese to English, this reportis based on the author’s personal interpreting experience on the Principals from Nepalundertaken by HUEB from November23rd to December6th in2013. It focuses on severalmeetings as the main case to analyze the difficulties encountered in the process and thepossible solutions and strategies.This report assumes that the task process consists of the following aspects: the introductionof the interpreting process, including the project background, the nature as well as the client’srequest. It also describes the preparation work, strategy choice, planning, etc.Besides, the author also explain the problems which encountered in this interpretingprocess, such as short-term memory, fright in stage, note taking and vocabulary vacancy, andexpounds how to solve the problem using the related theories.Through detailed analysis, the author draws the following conclusions. Firstly, we shouldadhere to the semantic priority strategy under the condition of guarantee the informationintegrity. Secondly, more attention should be attached to the preparation work which plays adecisive role. Thirdly, the psychological quality of the interpreter that is they dare to inquiriesfor help on the issue of ambiguity. The last one is the simplified principle that is interpreteromits the repetition appropriately. The last part is the summary after the interpreting project,which includes problems encountered in the process and its solutions, unresolved problems,and what the author learned in the interpreting process.
