Vocabulary teaching is an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and idioms is an important part of Chinese vocabulary,as well as heavy and difficult for foreign students to learn Chinese vocabulary.Foreign students studying Chinese words usually starts from the words table in the TCSL textbooks. So if the translations and notes are inappropriate,they will mislead the learners. So,teaching Chinese idioms in English interpretation for beginners is very critical. In view of this,the article examine a set of primary TCSL textbooks and a set of intermediate TCSL textbooks to set up a corpus of the inappropriate idiom English translations, classify the errors,explore the reasons for them,and bring up some advice for the improvement of the translations,as well as some inspirations for the vocabulary teaching.The article hopes this study can be helpful to improvement of the idiom English translations,along with the vocabulary teaching Chinese as the second language.The thesis is mainly composed of six parts as follows:The first part introduces the research background,research purpose and meaning, current research of realities,research objects and contents,research methods.The idioms of English translations in teaching Chinese situation and related problems, idioms in English interpretation problems need to be discussed and solved in this paper.The second part is based on the corpus of idioms in English interpretation econometric analysis,the corpus of source, quantity,nature,characteristics and principles of corpus building,using scientific statistical method to study the specific situation of the English idioms and idioms interpretations.The third part is based on the scientific statistical analysis of corpus,the amount of the idiom number compared with the number of teaching vocabulary,idioms and The outline of Chinese vocabulary and Chinese character level grade compatibility analysis,selection of idioms with the Chinese culture embodies the three aspects of analysis;Structure and with the acquisition of idioms are analyzed.And summing up the wrong type of improper English translations.The fourth part is the analysis of the cause of the inappropriate idiom English interpretation,mainly from the Chinese-English two languages inter-translation, Chinese-English cultural differences,textbook writers personal reasons from three aspects of the analysis.The fifth part is how to solve the problem of inappropriate idiom English interpretation,puts forward the solutions.The sixth divided advice and summary, using database analysis of the results, put forward suggestions to write teaching materials,teaching process,teachers.Conclusion is analysis in this paper,the enlightenment on outline writing and HSK,put forward the innovation of this article,make notes and the institute of deficiencies.
