Teaching materials is the basic of teaching, the quality of teaching materials directly affect teaching effect. The compile of teaching Chinese as a foreign language textbook has gone through several different stages, whether from the content or structure and layout are slowly improving. But it is not difficult to find that the culture teaching materials only account for a small proportion, it also cause the textbook researchers’ attention.The culture teaching materials of teaching Chinese ad a foreign language is the instruction to ol of teaching which mainly introduce the China culture.It is the teaching materials for training Ian guage skill and an important medium of cross-cultural communication.Teaching Chinese as a forei gn language is a process of cross-cultural communications,so we should pay attention on that. At t he present stage, The lack of Chinese culture teaching materials not only hinder the quality of teac hing,but also become a bottleneck to spread Chinese culture.In this paper I based on the theory of i ntercultural communication,chosed<Chinese Culture>and<The Conmmon Sense of Chinese Cult ure>as cases,analysised those two teaching materials with the principles during intercultural comm unication. The teaching materials of teaching Chinese as a foreign language play the role of encoding and decoding in communication.In the process of coding.Considering there are several reasons may cause the encoding failure and the principles we should pay attention to during the cross-cultural communication,authors who write the teaching material must avoid the factors leading to the failure of encoding and improve the cross-cultural awareness.so then they can write better teaching materials for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In the part of decoding,I took the interview to survey the feeling and reception of learners who read the teaching materials to analysis their needs.At last,I thrown out some suggestions which could be reference for teaching materials.
