As the economy of pastoral areas of Inner Mongolia enjoys rapid development, the lives of herdsmen there have been noticeably improved. But in this process, the issue of sustainable development is becomingly gradually outstanding, especially in the year of2011, the State Council immediately introduced "Several Opinions of the State Council on Promoting Sound and Rapid Development in Pastoral Area", and held a conference on pastoral areas in Hulun Buir City with the priority given to deployment and research in the pastoral-related work, showing that the State Council lay emphasis on the problem of sustainable development in pastoral areas of Inner Mongolia. Public services supply is an in-depth component and one of the fundamentals of the sustainable development of pastoral areas. This paper takes the theories of sustainable development, public goods and the new public service as the theoretical basis, and makes systematical analyses of the public services of the pastoral areas through the perspective of sustainable development. The supply of public service comprises many contents, this paper selects such four basic components as basic education, health, employment and social security to elaborate on in public service supply. Judging from the current reality of pastoral areas, there still exist such problems as vacancies in preschool education, lack of medical staff, difficulties of college graduates from ethnic minority areas in finding employment in the process of public service supply. We think that sustainability of public service supply in pastoral areas still falls behind, these problems reveal in-depth difficulties of unsustainability of public service supply in pasturing areas. This article carries on the analyses of the reasons for the supply of public services in pastoral areas from such four aspects as public finance, public policy, organization and system, and these problems reveal in-depth difficulties of unsustainability of public service supply in pasturing areas of public service supply. Put forward policies and suggestions to strengthen the sustainability of public services of pasturing areas from such aspects as the financial investment, transfer payment and organising system by drawing on the advanced experience of the United States and Australia.
