China’s Development Of Housing Endowment: Problems, Experience And Solution

As China has entered the aging society, the social security system and familysecurity system are facing an increasing pressure. Undoubtedly, to find a suitableendowment method for china is the key to solve these problems. The practice of theUnited States and Europe proved that the Housing Endowment to be a better solutionto the pension problems. This paper first introduces four countries-the United States,Canada, Singapore and the United Kingdom. They had successful experience oncarrying out the Housing Endowment. Then it detailing the Housing Endowment inthose countries and introducing the conditions of these countries to take the HousingEndowment and the payment method. By analyzed the advantages and disadvantagesof these methods, we can learn from their successful experience and to avoid thenegative factors. Then, it analyzing the international practice of Housing Endowment,and giving a comprehensive overview of the Housing Endowment. This paperanalyzes the international experience on Housing Endowment. For one thing, it cangive a comprehensive introduction on Housing Endowment, for another, it cansummary several major problems in Housing Endowment and the solution to solvethis problems. Then the paper focuses on the practice in the Housing Endowment inChina. Through the analysis of four different Housing Endowment methods whichcarried out by four different agencies-the Tangshan nursing home and Happinessinsurance companies, Shanghai Provident Fund Centre and CITIC Bank, summed upthe problems in China in Housing Endowment. Then, it made some specific solutionsfor these difficulties, designed to explore a suitable mode for the Housing Endowmentin China.
