Investigation On Community Endowment Service Under The Background Of Aging Population

With the rapid development of socioeconomic in our country, the growth of the aging populations is becoming a severe social problem in cities, at the same time, the disadvantages of aging gradually appear, especially the pension problem of the elderly population is becoming increasingly obvious. Shenzhen, as the window of China’s reform and opening up and a international city, is a young city, however, Shenzhen has its own problems in the age structure, especially in recent years, the aging population has sharply increased.There are several reasons of the phenomenon. In the first place, a group of young adults who were the early pioneers in Shenzhen retired and they are getting older. Secondly, residence of the elderly population will continue to grow; what is more, lots of old people from the mainland live with their children in Shenzhen. Furthermore, the number of people who have advanced ages, empty-nest old men, half self-care and those who are completely unable to do anything by themselves has been increased at an amazing rate. Under these circumstances, the rising community service for the aged has been concerned by governments and some social organizations. The kind of community endowment service effectively integrate the advantages of traditional family supporting and institutions endowment, so that the old man can obtain professional pension service in their familiar environment, and the stress that the family take care of the old can be reduced. The family and society can save money as well. What’s more, the old people can improve the quality of life, which helps them enjoy the old age times.Selecting Shenzhen as this research has two reasons. Firstly, I can take advantages of the postdoctoral base which is constructed by Central China Normal University mainly studying on the social construction and the innovation of people’s livelihood in Luohu District. Secondly, as an economically developed area, no matter the experiences or difficulties are first onset, and the difficulties encountered by Shenzhen today, maybe occurred in other cities. Therefore, studying on community endowment service of Luohu district has the significant value. Not only can we meet the reality needs of community endowment service in Luohu and China, but also provide reference for the future study.The thesis is consisted of six parts. The first part describes the background, purpose, significance and methods about researching community endowment service under the background of the aging population. The second and third part elaborate the aging population situation and community endowment situation and needs in Luohu District through analyzing and information and data about aging population situation and community endowment condition by the methods of table-account survey, interview survey and questionnaire survey. The fourth part summarizes the problems about community endowment service in Luohu District on the basis of investigation and analysis. The fifth part puts forward six policy recommendations including making the policy more scientific for the aged and improving the information level of pension services. The sixth part is the conclusion; I also summarize the whole thesis and point out the insufficiency.
