French Chinese literature has a history of over a century. With its success in the1990s overseas, French Chinese literature has attracted more and more attention in China, generating rich and profound literary studies in this area. At the same time, its translation and introduction also evolves in China. From1980s to1990s, a smattering of French Chinese literature was introduced to China; in the new era, a small climax was reached. Chinese readers are exposed to an increasing French Chinese writing. Because of the singularity of French Chinese literary writing per se, its translation and introduction has some features worth noting:some French Chinese writing has received mixed reviews from Chinese and western readers due to cultural differences; literary awards has distinct influences on the translation and introduction of French Chinese literature; and the bilingual French Chinese writers’preference of letting their works being translated by others instead of by themselves.Compared with the research of French Chinese literature in the fields of textual analyses and thematic studies, examination of its translation and introduction in China is far from enough. Therefore, this thesis tries to chronicle the translation and introduction of French Chinese literature in China since1980s and1990s, further analyze and categorize this literary phenomenon, and explore its features and origins. This paper consists of three chapters. Chapter1is devoted to the introduction of French-Chinese literature, including its definition and current status. Chapter2focuses on the development and summary of the French-Chinese literature from1980s to1990s and after2000in the domestic of its interpretation. Based on what is mentioned and the specialty of this literature, this paper probes into its characteristics in the field and attempts to track its trace. The significance of the French-Chinese literature in the interpretation is explored in the last chapter and conclusions are also made in this chapter.
