Intermediate comprehensive course is the main course in teachingChinese as a Second Language,therefore the exercises of the intermediatecomprehensive textbooks has play an important role in teaching.Tworepresentative textbooks named <Boya Chinese> and <DevelopingChinese>are selected in this paper as an object of this study and themethods including statistcs and contrast are used in analyzing the twokinds books from the following aspects:Firstly, the quantity of the exercises are analyzed and contrastedthrough the statistics of pages and questions amount.Using the theoreticalbasis and statistics,we can see the ratio of the amount of questiongs andteaching content then judge if their sets are appropriate.Secondly, the two books were analyzed in different angles anddifferent aspects.We start from counting the form of exercise,then themain form the secondary form and the complex from,and then we can seesome low reproductiong rate form execises.On the basic of these clearform statistics and imformation searching,different roles of differentforms are analyzed in teaching course, to highlight these two books’advantages and disadvantages in exercises form setting.In order to makethe paper more rigorous and scientific,differentiation,generalizationand exercise content are considered.At the end of each unit,insights andrecommendations are given which is a major feature of this paper.Finally,a questionnaire to understand textbook exercises evaluationof the users’ view are set in the end.After the opening report,thequestionnaire content are set out to designed.The ivestigation are carriedout in Xi’an International Study University,Shaanxi Normal Universityand Xi’an JiaoTong University for less then two month.Thanks for thecooperation of these teachers and foreign students,their assistance helpthe smooth writing and do favor for the convincing conclusion.Based on the rigours investigation and analysis,the autorsummarizes the features and defects of these two kinds testbooks in orderto offer some insights worthing learning meanwhile provide suggestionsfor the textbook exercises design later.
