The Research On The Spiritual Endowment Of The Urban Residents In China

Population aging is a common problem faced by the world’s population development. With the increase in China’s aging population, there have been emerged old-age security problems. One of the eye-catching problems is the spirit endowment of old people. What the elderly need is not just the material support, but also more spiritual care and respection. To a certain extent, spirit endowment can better reflect the connotation and essence of filial piety than material support, and is the extremely important demand in the old age life.With the city’s economic development in our country, the old people who have the ability to realize self-endowment are increasing year by year. The vast majority of the elderly can realize self-independent financially without the children’s full support. However, due to the huge psychological gap after retirement, their self-actualization needs cannot be satisfied, there have got stuck in the lonely. The phenomenon of spiritual demand scarcity, which damaged the old people’s physical and mental health, is bad for the old people’s life and the building of harmonious society. Therefore, how to better solve the problem of urban old people’s spirit endowment and make them have a happy and peaceful life, is a test of the whole society.Firstly, this article introduced the spirit of the connotation and theoretical basis of pension, and discussed the reason of spirit endowment problem’s highlighting by analyzing the relationship between physical endowment and spirit endowment. Secondly, according to the characteristics of the urban elderly and on the basis of analyzing the present situation of urban elderly people’s material life, the paper summarized the elderly spiritual needs, and further discussed the importance of strengthening the spirit endowment. Again, the paper explore the problems of urban residents’spirit endowment based on the analysis of current situation of the spirit pension. Lastly, through learning the experience of spirit endowment in the United States, Japan and South Korea, the article put forward such countermeasures and suggestions as encouraging the elderly to, establishing the environment of urban spirit endowment, the family security is given priority and the community service is complementary.
