As the influential official in Han Dynasty, ShiZhong is also an important memberin bureaucratic system of Han Dynasty. It is of great significance to reach ShiZhong.Because it can help us deeply understand the official system of Han Dynasty. On thebasis of learning previous studies, this article analyzed the materials again andinvestigated the topic from four aspects:Chapter one investigated the origin and establishment of ShiZhong. Discussedthe implication of ShiZhong which before Han Dynasty. By comparing differentcharacteristics of ShiZhong, which exit in Eastern Han Dynasty and Western HanDynasty, to analyze ShiZhong’s higher institution and his grade, the jiaguancharacteristic in Western Han Dynasty, the Full-time characteristic in Eastern HanDynasty.Chapter two explored the evolution of ShiZhong, especially in the aspects of hisjobs and status. The process of evolution can be divided into four stages: The firststage from early years of Western Han Dynasty to before Emperor Wu of Han sets upjiaguan serviced the inner government. In this stage, ShiZhong is in charge ofemperor’s daily living, his jobs are trivial and his status is low. The second stage fromEmperor Wu of Han sets up jiaguan serviced the inner government to the later periodof Western Han Dynasty. Emperor Wu of Han takes ShiZhong as the jiaguan servicedthe inner government, which let ShiZhong have the duty to answer the Emperor’squestions and give advices to the emperor. In this stage, ShiZhong’s jobs became richand because the increasing power in political, his position has improved. The thirdstage is the period of Eastern Han. As a full-time official, ShiZhong had regular work,but as his political powers had been weakened, his position declined.Chapter three discussed ShiZhong’s selection and promotion. This Chapterdiscussed this issue from three aspects: the post requirements, the mode of selection,the direction of transfer. As ShiZhong can enter jinzhong and had the duty to givecounsels to Emperor’s questions and give advices and suggestions to the emperor,which required ShiZhong possess good behavior and broad knowledge. Because ShiZhong has a close relationship with emperor, emperor often offers this position tosomeone in person. Someone with similar jobs as ShiZhong can also acquire thisposition. From the angle of direction of transfer, ShiZhong regularly have a brightfuture.Chapter four stated the ShiZhong’s important significance in political system ofHan Dynasty. In terms of political decision. ShiZhong not only influences emperor’sdecisions in the manner of answer the Emperor’s questions and give advices to theemperor, but also takes part in the discuss of royal or imperial court. In terms ofpolitical authority. ShiZhong not only helps emperor centralize the state’s power, butalso as the tool to help someone master the state’s power. In terms of political system.The ruler uses ShiZhong’s jiaguan characteristic to adjust political system, which isgood for enhancing the energy of political system.
