As one kind of people’s attitudejob satisfaction has an effect on people’s psy chology,behavior and physical health.The civil servants of non-leadership positions perform their official duties in accordance with law,whose job satisfaction would a ffect their job performance and health.Being people-oriented,it is necessary to pay close attention to the job satisfaction of civil servants of non-leadership positions and improve their working enthusiasm,which would contribute to the improvement of the effectiveness of our government administration and the level of public servi ces,so as to help the government achieve the goal of governance.After the analysis and synthesis of the literature on the job satisfaction,The j ob-related factors that affected job satisfaction of civil servants of non-leadership positions in Y city were investigated on the basis of empirical research,and the di mensions of job satisfaction were explored.Besides the level of job satisfaction,the relationship between the dimensions of job satisfaction and overall satisfaction was also revealed.Furthermore,the effects of different demographic variables on job sati sfaction were analyzed.The research results show that the satisfaction of work reward,work environm ent,relationships at work and work itself constitute the job satisfaction of civil ser vants of non-leadership positions in Y city.The overall job satisfaction is at the’m iddle level,The job satisfaction mean score of91.1%of civil servants of non-lead ership positions is between2and4points.The civil servants of non-leadership po sitions are most satisfied with the family support,the treatment of superior-subordi nate relationship and the quality level of colleagues in a descending order of mea n scores,while the most dissatisfied are the promotion,salaries and workfare in an ascending order of mean scores.According to the scale scores,the satisfaction ranki ng of four dimensions of job satisfaction is work reward,work itself,work environ ment and relationships at work in an ascending order of mean scores.The satisfact ion mean score of work reward is between2and3points;the satisfaction of wor k environment is at the middle level;the satisfaction mean score of relationships a t work is higher than other three dimensions nearly reaching a level of3.5poins; the satisfaction mean score of work itself is low and also between2and3point s.The four dimensions of job satisfaction have a significant correlation with overal 1job satisfaction;according to the impact of four dimensions of job satisfaction on overall job satisfaction,it could be ranked as the satisfaction of work reward,relatio nships at work,work environment and work itself in a descending order. Gender do esn’t have significant impact on job satisfaction,while marital status,age,education and years of working have.According to the survey results,combined with job satisfaction theory,several p roposals have been put forward accordingly to improve the job satisfaction of civi1servants of non-leadership positions,which could provide the basis for governmen t decision-making and the management of civil servants improving our country’s p ublic services.
