Research On Mao Zedong’s Thought Of National Defense Obilization (1956-1966)

Mao Zedong is the founder of New China, a great proletarian revolutionist, a statesman, a litterateur and also a strategist. Marked by the completion of Three Great Remould after the state established, the Communists headed by Mao Zedong led the people of the whole country into a new historical period, which was a period of comprehensive exploration of the socialist construction. Communists always took the New China socialist construction and defense as the primary goal of New China and all Chinese people. Mao Zedong, as the leader of the party and the country, kept a sober realization to the domestic and international situation and put forward a series of socialistic national defense construction which was conformed to the national conditions and contained an important part, the national defense mobilization mind. National defense mobilization, as a mobilization of a defensive war and a crucial segment of national security, needed to take a special theory study, set up perfect laws and regulations and develop scientific and comprehensive construction even more. Researching Mao Zedong national defense mobilization deeply was not only the enrichment of Mao Zedong military thought system but also advantageous to insist to the modern scientific development of the national defense constructive strategy under the current circumstances. The thesis is divided into four parts:Part1. Introduction. This chapter made a guiding discussion from four sides to the whole article, including researching background, researching significance and value, researching status and researching thoughts and methods.Part2. This chapter tried to investigate the historical background of Mao Zedong national defense mobilization thoughts from the following two aspects. Firstly, the chapter explored the characteristics of Marxism of Mao Zedong thoughts on national defense mobilization in the process of Mao Zedong’s reading of the classic Marxism-leninism, on the theoretical roots. Secondly, in the process of Mao Zedong’s directing revolutionary army winning in all previous revolutionary war, the experience summary of the public mobilization is one side of practice basis of the national mobilization. Lastly, Mao Zedong national mobilization was an active exploration and scientific guidance on the basis of China’s socialist national defense construction in practice, in the period of comprehensive exploration of socialist construction.Part3. Mainly discussing the concrete content of Mao Zedong national defense mobilization in the period of comprehensive exploration of the socialist construction. This chapter included four aspects. One is the construction of national defense mobilization under the strategic principle of active defense. The second is correctly dealing with the relationship between the construction of national defense economy and national defense construction. The third is basing on the ready to fight and achieving universal soldier. The last is the construction of "large third line" and "small third line" in view of the combat.Part4. Mainly discussing the historical significance and inspiration of Mao Zedong national defense mobilization thoughts. Insisting with Marxist historical view as foothold, the historical significance of Mao Zedong national defense mobilization thoughts mainly contained following four sides. Afterwards, on the basis of the requirements for new period, the thesis made a deep statement to Mao Zedong national defense thoughts on the enlightenment of social mobilization in the new era, the modernization of military and national defense and the legal system for national defense mobilization.
