Study On Ideological Situation And Guidance Strategy Of Rural Youth In Santai County

The youth is a huge and vibrant community in rural area of China, and their quality is directly related to the success or failure of the construction of new socialist countryside of our country. Meanwhile, the youth also play an important role during the rapid urbanization and industrialization process. The changing social and economic environment imposes a great impact to the ideas of rural youth. Facing this reality, the ideological guidance of rural youth should make timely changes. The grassroots status in Santai, as the most populous county in Sichuan Province, is a typical case to the other parts of the province. This study is aim to summarize the status of rural youth, and put forward constructive ideas for rural youth ideological grassroots provincial guidance.The youth ideology is including the youth world outlook, outlook on life, values, moral concept, the socialist core values of an integrated value system. As an agricultural country with a large population, the ideological quality of rural youth and the national future development are closely related. Youth ideological guidance is around the China characteristic socialism request to the youth, and actively guide the youth to set up a positive outlook on life, values, to guide the youth while maintaining a reasonable material pursuit of cultivating a healthy spiritual pursuit, value concept to establish labor to create life, achievements in life, cultivate moral character and a good way of life. The author conducted a series of analysis, such as literature analysis, questionnaire survey and institutions interview. During the analytical process, the dissertation summarized the ideological situation of rural youth in Santai County, analyzed the ideological problems of them, and then put forward the principles and strategies to carry out ideological guidance. This study suggested there were several features in the ideological situation of rural youth in Santai: their thoughts were more and more open and independent, they were more willing to participate in politics, and they had expectations on rural area’s development. However, there were still some problems in the:First, the younger youth (14-18) held a strong subjective consciousness but vague self-positioning; Second, most of the youth were lack of hard-working and dependency spirit; Third, their behavior was short-sighted and materialistic; fourthly, they had relatively limited ways to access information, and the traditional cultural dregs imposed bad influence obviously.The analysis thinks, under the background of a large number of rural labor force going out to work, the important factor for the negative effects of the current rural youth thought are:lack of family education, short of social education, the role of rural grassroots organizations play is not in place, weak of the rural economy influence rural youth confidence in agricultural development and bad habits influence agricultural development.Finally, the paper put forward six guiding strategy to carry on ideological guidance from following aspects:increase the degree of attention, establish a sound rural youth guidance organization system, establish rural youth ideological guidance system, construct and make good use of rural youth ideological guidance position, optimize the hard environment for the Ideological development of rural youth, and construct a healthy soft environment for ideological development of the rural youth.
