The Impact Of The Collective Intentions On The Network Group Events

Problems of collective intentionality is an advanced topic in the philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, its concepts are involved in many fields. In a nutshell, collective intention is the reason for the collective action whose expression is "we intend to do X". With the rapid development of network technology, network news, as well as an increase in the number of net citizen, public intentionality impact on the social life is growing, and has a great effect in the culture, education, ideology, life style and even value judgment, etc. Network transmission has become an important channel of the public to express public opinions, public appeals, and to discuss public affairs and the supervision by public opinion. Numerous networking events happened in recent years shows that the network collective intention has not only penetrated the country’s political sphere, but also has become an important force to influence government’s decision-making. However, network collective intention is not a panacea. It spreads rapidly, and its content is rich and complex, the main audiences of network public opinion are more and more popular, and its anonymity and openness have a negative effect on the society and the government. This thesis is based on the impact of collective intentions on the network group events under this background, and made recommendations to prevent and divert, hoping to guide correct and reasonable network intention and build a harmonious society. The author aims to provide some practical significance for reference.In the interpretation of collective intention, the collective intention’s representative views can be classified into individualism position and collectivism position. Individualized methodology believes that the collective is made up of individuals. Collective intention can only appear in an individual’s mind. There is no individual exists beyond a main body. Collective intentionality is an individual’s special personal intention which is related to collective action. Collectivism (holism) methodology emphasizes that, the collective is an indivisible organic whole, the social sciences must be from the "whole" perspective to view and interpret.Finland philosopher Tuomela, a representative of collective intentionality individualism puts forward the common knowledge to solve simple superposition blame that individualism encountered, but it fell into another dilemma, that is how individual intentions lead to the collective action. Later, though a joint intention is introduced, it also leads to an infinite loop. Gilbert, a representative philosopher of collective intention holism introduced the concept of "normative". She emphasized that multiple subject can act as a body and have the same psychological state, but ignored the collective intentions as intentions. Searle’s "Construction of Social Reality book" popularized the notion of collective intentionality, and in his later writings and papers, he has referred to the collective intention, but failed in explaining the notion of "collective". This thesis investigates the current research status of collective intention and combines with previous research to define the collective intention. And on this basis, this thesis starting from the social perspective, through the analysis of network hot issues, discuss the impact of collective intentions on the network group events, and giving feasible suggestions on how to correctly guide public opinions in the network. The author is looking forward to the future development of the research prospect.This thesis comprehensively applies literature research and empirical analysis, combining with the philosophy of science, philosophy, journalism, psychology, communication science and other related disciplines to overcome a purely theoretical level, and advocate specific context. It discusses the impact of collective intentions on the network events in the grand network environment and social environment, combines collective intentions with specific social identity in the community together, thus giving collective intention a new definition. And by using those theories, this thesis analyzes collective intentions impact on the network group events. This article will be divided into five parts. The first part mainly discusses the significance, research status, and topic research condition. In the second part through John Searle, Margaret Gilbert, Raimo Tuomela and others collective intention theories, this thesis proposes the combination of collective intentionality and social identity so as to analyze the basic connotation of the collective intention. The third part introduces the concept and characteristics of the network group events, as well as the research domain of this thesis. In the fourth part, through specific analysis of "Guo meimei event","Deng yujiao event","Salt shortage event", this thesis illustrates the impact of collective intentions on network events. In the last part, this thesis puts forward countermeasures, which includes the assurance of the unblocked institutional political participation channels of our government, reception of the beneficial aspects of collective intention, satisfaction of reasonable demands of cyber citizens, purification of the network environment, solution also includes strengthening the building of mainstream media intention, establishment of on-line pre-warning system, implementation opening the implementation of government affairs, and using the mainstream media and the main network platform to guide network public sentiment.The main conclusion of this paper is:in the network information age, we should be more rational, impartial and objectively look upon the influence of collective intentions on network events. We should refuse to look at the network group events with sensibility, one-sidedness and subjectivity. In addition, we should explore the scientific, reasonable and standard solution to guide network group events, in order to ensure steady development of the internet age.The innovation of this thesis lies in its freedom from previous research framework which is focusing on individualism and holism debate on the collective intentionality, and its breakthrough in a purely theoretical level to explore the nature of collective intentions, proposing to put it in a specific context of collective actions to discuss, linking collective intentions and specific social identity in the community together and giving a new definition to collective intentions, and using those theory to analyze its impact on the network groups events.
