While China is in the period of social and economic transformation, the adjustmentpace of economic base and the superstructure is not consistent, system design and thetransformation of government functions is lagging behind, causing all kinds of problemsemerging, and social conflicts are increasing. Coupled with the governmentadministrative costs remain high, frequent acts of anomie, corruption frequentlyexposed, the resources of government legitimacy have been lost, the public showed trustin the government is falling, and even a certain degree of rupture. This phenomenon ismanifested in the lack of trust in modern cyber society is more prominent. Rapidpopularization and development of the Internet profoundly changed people’s way of lifeand political behavior. This network provide new ways and means for people to handleaffairs, private communication, access to information, entertainment and other activities.The contact between point to point, face to face are more diverse, intensive andfrequently. A new form of social relationship begin to form, the cyber society graduallymolding. Economic and political civilization in China has made remarkableachievements, people’s living standards is improving, the awareness of democracy andlaw is growing, and the enthusiasm of political participation and rights protection isrunning high. In the cyber society, the propagation speed and breadth of informationhave been improved, a number of flaws in the management of government rapidlyspread and amplified through the network, thus exacerbating the damage in governmenttrust.Based on this background, the paper explores the uniqueness of government trustin cyber society, and illustrates the two-way interaction between the government and thepublic, then explains the causes of the damage of trust in the government from the cybersociety and makes the path to repair government trust.
