in2007,the congress of advancing the construction of learning society in Shanghai put forward that By2010Shanghai would initially build the learning society framework that "anyone can learn, anytime can learn, anywhere can learn". Along with the aging population is becoming more and more obvious, we paid more and more attention to the problem of elderly education. The development of community education、elderly education is not only the content of improvement the system of lifelong education, but also is effective measures for the construction of learning and harmonious society.Throughout the current situation of the community education in Shanghai, the elderly education is the main content of the community education, but the theories of community education and government documents pay not enough attention to the elderly education in communities. With the rapid development of population aging, how to meet the learning need of elderly and how to provide more quality elderly community education are very important. Research on Baoshan district could provide an reference to solve the problem that the elderly community education is lacking of specialized theoretical guidance. The study can also provide an reference solution for public sector to solve the problem of the elderly community education.In view of the problem to be solved, this paper, on the basis of analysis the theories of elderly community education at home and abroad, briefly review the development of community education in Shanghai. The objectives of this thesis is the elderly community education, from the macro and micro dimension, using the literature、field visits and questionnaire etc research methods to survey the status of the management model、school conditions、teachers and community education courses, analyze the problem of elderly community education in Baoshan district and look for the solutions.Through the research and analysis, this thesis obtains the following conclusions: Firstly, the elderly community education in Baoshan district have completed the target; Secondly, analyzing the learning motivation of community elderly residents and concerning about the typical phenomenon of teaching are the key points; Thirdly,"demands-oriented" require that we should grasp the dynamic development of demands to meet the learning need of elderly.There are innovations in two aspects:firstly, an define of the elderly community education that characteristics of community education in Shanghai is expound; Secondly, making full use of the government documents and data to avoid the possible existence of defects.
