In order to understand the reason and mechanism that college students continue to adhere or exitextracurricular physical exercise, the study investigate760college students through a questionnaire surveyand empirical analysis. Based on a comprehensive understanding of the college students’ extracurricularphysical training situation, the study use the basis of systems engineering explained in the structural modelwas constructed the extracurricular sports Mechanism of Exercise Persistence structural model, and havemade an empirical test, to construe extracurricular activity adhere to the psychological mechanism andintervention reasonably, enhance the students’ lifelong sports awareness find a new way to provide anempirical basis and practical way of reference; also provide a theoretical basis for subsequent research inthe field and methodological reference.The study results show that:After the P.E. class, few students continue to adhere to extracurricular physical exercise, especiallyhigh school students, at occasionally participating or never participating in extracurricular physical exercise,girl is higher than boy significantly.Established based on the idea of the concept of "Students’ Extracurricular Physical Exercise Adherencemechanism to explain the model20, the need to test the hypothesized relationships, which found that"bodily injury, external pressure and social pressure hypothesis "based on the assumption of the threevariables can not be supported by the data, test it is to give up its role path, the path between the remaining17potential variables showed significant.Students ’Extracurricular Physical Exercise Adherence mechanism to explain the structure of theoverall evaluation of the model fit the data, the local significant path coefficients and equations on theinterpretation of the data and the ability to obtain satisfactory results, empirical tests support the “CollegeStudents”Extracurricular Physical Exercises adhere to the mechanism interpretation model.Exercise commitment (internal) within the model to predict and explain the path of individualsExercise Adherence behavior is more reliable, relatively more important.Affecting College Students’ Extracurricular Physical Exercises adhere to play a leading role in themechanism is internal-behavioral intention to participate in physical exercise, the exercise of individualcommitment. Extracurricularphysical exercise for individual development has not been universally accepted. For this reason, it isrecommended that:(1) based on the exercise of commitment on Students ’Extracurricular Physical exercise insist on theimportance of behavior should increase the depth of the commitment to exercise and its related factors, topromote the Students’ Extracurricular Physical Exercise Adherence provide a theoretical basis.(2) Education in college sports, should develop students’ exercise insist on the psychologicalcommitment to the formation of raising the level of athletic ability and exercise habits as a key, so thatstudents take the initiative to adhere to extracurricular physical exercise, thus contributing to the overallphysical health improvement(3) Improve ordinary majors in physical education teaching quality, teaching content should befurther competitive sports shift to mass sports, campus social environment to adapt to a more simple andclose to life, to enhance students’ sports preferences.(4) Further establish and improve physical fitness social support networks, physical educationprograms that promote simple, physical exercise life, entertainment; strengthen health education and advocacy, to create a good sports fitness culture.
