At the beginning of the21st century, with the quick arrival of the societyof industrialization and modernization, higher education becomespopularization, so the employment of vocational students has become themain topic for people. People have gradually come to realize that if we wantto resolve the problem of employment, we must have a better understandingof the status quo of development of higher vocational education. Also, peoplegenerally feel that the difficulty of employment situation is increasinglyserious, especially the employment of vocational students. Compared withstudents in the colleges, vocational students only have the advantage in termsof skills, however their disadvantages in qualifications and degree are moreprominent. So we can say that the employment situation of vocationalstudents is also worrying. At present, the problems of employment for thevocational students has become a social problem. Besides the students andparents, government and schools are also worried about it. It can be said thatthe employment problems of the vocational students successfully resolvedwill be not only in favor of higher vocational education, sustainable andhealthy development, but also facilitates of the process of modernization ofhigher education and the steady progress of the socialist harmonious society.Based on this, since2008the author has been concerned about the WuhaiPolytechnic graduate employment issues through the summary of the largenumber of documents and research and the advanced mode of reference to thehigher vocational education at home and abroad. Combined with the Wuhairegional vocational high school students questionnaire of the actual situationand the correct analysis of the current employment situation and employmentstatus, finally the author put forward corresponding countermeasures andsuggestions. The region continued development of higher vocational colleges provided a valuable reference. This thesis is divided into three parts: The firstpart is the introduction part of the paper. According to Wuhai Vocational andTechnical College, the author described the purpose of this study, significance,research contents and methods and gave a brief overview of the researchdynamics of the foreign vocational colleges, so that we can make thefoundation for the development of vocational education theory and the careerguidance. The second part describes the employment status of the Wuhaivocational students. Combined with the development process of China’shigher vocational education and employment characteristics, the authoranalyzed the pressure and the difficulties due to the social factors, vocationalcolleges and the students’ own factors and family factors, and also pointed outthe opportunities with the rapid economic development and the entry of theWTO. At last the author gave the forward-looking overview of theemployment prospects of vocational students in Wuhai. In the third part, theauthor studied a large number of documents, and combined with theemployment status of the the Wuhai vocational students in recent years, andthen illustrated the employment policy of Wuhai vocational students by usingof the empirical survey and questionnaire. Based on the above, the authorsproposed four development direction of the Wuhai vocational students inemployment, namely: government, Wuhai vocational colleges, socialemploying units and vocational students. In particular, autonomous regionsand Wuhai city government at all levels should strengthen the regulation ofthe employment policy, give full play to the advantage of the Government andstrengthen the management and guidance on the employment of vocationalstudents, highlighting the government’s social management functions.According to the current economic situation, they should deepen continuouslythe reform of higher vocational education and market demand and improvethe service levels of the employment of vocational students to increaseeconomic investment for higher vocational education and support efforts tofundamentally escort vocational education. To train skilled personnel WuhaiVocational and Technical college should make an accurate location and improve the hard skills to make a guiding of employment and social needs, toform a distinctive characteristic of the higher vocational colleges, andconstantly deepen educational reform and to improve the quality of highervocational education. They should strengthen to the employment guidance ofvocational students, open up multiple channels of employment, strengthen thecooperation with enterprises and enhance students’ employability andcompetitiveness. social employing units should set the positions scientificly,don’t make a blind comparisons, eliminate discrimination in employment,recommend and select the talents realisticly and open up employmentopportunities for vocational students effectively. As vocational students, theymust face their own correctly and establish a correct concept of employment.From entering higher vocational institutions, it is necessary for them to knowtheir future career planning, and change their concept of employment in time.They should correct employment psychological, make an accurate positioning,strengthen theoretical study, constantly improve the practical ability, andmake a positive self-improvement, so that they can improve their own qualityto increase employment weights.
