The Employment Situation Of Vocational College Students And Countermeasures

With the prosperous development of our domestic higher vocational education, higher vocational colleges have entered the golden period of rapid development. However, our domestic employment markets have been gloomy in the recent years, forming the distinct contract to the vigorous development of higher vocational colleges. Higher vocational college is the important composing part of higher education, the employment problem of students in higher vocational colleges has become an important social problem, and current employment situations of higher vocational college students and strategies need further research and discussion. In the new trend, the employment of higher vocational college students not only acquires some achievements, but also shows some new problems, which mainly shows having no job to do, unwilling to do the job and difficulty of finding a job. The reasons of these problems not only come from the society and schools, but also stem from students, such as the cause of the effects of the countries and the social big environment and the old concept of recognition on higher vocational students in the society, the reason of disjoints between higher vocational college teaching system, course setting and social employment units and the incomplete employment system, or the factor of student’s bad academy, lack of plan and confidence and negativity in employment. With these attribution analysis, we attempt to find the strategies of the employment problems of higher vocational colleges from it:creating the good environment in the society, promoting the fair employment; higher vocational colleges should not only respect market demands, optimize course settings and make students adapt to enterprise post demands, but also emphasize professional characteristics, strengthen skills and training and improve the students equipped with higher vocational college characteristics; it should not only enhance school-enterprise cooperation, emphasizes employment guidance, but also pay attention to entrepreneurship education, guide professional planning, lead students to make reasonable professional career planning, education students well on entrepreneurship and use entrepreneurship to promote employment; students should practice their employment attitude inside and cultivate their employment skills outside, equip themselves with good and overall comprehensive quality, enhance confidence, adapt to the development changes of employment markets so as to find a job successfully.Research on employment problem of higher vocational college students will be a long-term and complicated subject, which needs our constant attention.
