Students' Initiative Learning Delays Impact On: Time Management Disposition Mediating Effect

Learning procrastination is an important field of psychological research in recent years. Learning procrastination is common in college students, nearly every college student has troubled by the learning delays. Learning procrastination, is an irrational behavior happened in school situations, learners know that they should finish the task, but can’t control delay start or delay completion and therefore to experience the bad mood。To provide the beneficial reference to the solution of the related problem such as loosing, can’t effective use of learning time and learning resources for contemporary college students. In this study,450full-time undergraduate students as the research object, through literature analysis, questionnaire survey, research, and correlation analysis, regression analysis and other scientific empirical methods, to explore the present situation and characteristics of the college students’ learning initiative, time management disposition and learning procrastination and the relationship between them. The research content includes:First of all, systematically investigates the domestic and foreign related research results of the college students’ learning initiative, time management disposition and learning procrastination. Secondly, using the questionnaire survey the present situation of the college students’ learning initiative, time management disposition and learning procrastination; Third, analyzed the characteristics of the mass of the college students’ learning initiative, time management disposition and learning procrastination. And discusses the college students’ differences in demographic variables according to the results of statistics. Finally, using the correlation analysis to investigate relations of the college students’ learning initiative, time management disposition and learning procrastination, using regression analysis to explore the mediation effect of time management disposition between the learning initiative and learning procrastination.Main research conclusion is as follows:1. The score of college students of the learning initiative is above the medium level, getting the highest score in the factor of the sense of study significance, above the medium level; getting the lowest score in the factor of learning maintain, below the medium level. According to the score sorting, five factors from high to low in turn are:sense of meaning, learning attribution, learning adjustment, learning efficiency, and maintain.2. The differences on demographic variables of the learning initiative and various factors:(1) the score on the total table,boys significantly higher than girls; hospital-grade student cadres were significantly higher than the class student leaders and non-student leaders; were municipal state-of-the-art the title students and students of the university in advanced title never significantly higher than the students of any advanced title; the students that parenting is tough are significantly higher than the students that parents agree and understand; and the students that parents hardly care about;(2) the score on the dimension of the learning attribution:boys significantly higher than girls; the students that parenting is tough are significantly higher than the students that parents overly protective, the students that parents agree and understand; and the students that parents hardly care about.(3) the score on the dimension of sense of significance in learning:boys significantly higher than girls; the advanced title students, above provincial and ministerial level municipal title of advanced students and students of the university in advanced title significantly higher than never won any title of advanced students; the students that parenting is tough, parents agree and understand, parents overly protective are significantly higher than the students that parents hardly care about.(4) The score on the dimension of learning to maintain, the girls was significantly lower than boys; science and engineering students is significantly higher than students of the humanities and social sciences; students were municipal advanced title never significantly higher than the students of any advanced title.(5)The score on the dimension of learning to adjust, boys significantly higher than girls, university-level student leaders significantly higher than class student leaders and non-student leaders; the hospital level students was significantly higher than the class student leaders and non-student leaders cadres; advanced titles of the municipal students was significantly higher than never won any title of advanced students; the students that parenting is tough are significantly higher than the students that parents agree and understand; and the students that parents hardly care about.(6)The score on the dimension of sense of learning efficiency, boys significantly higher than girls; hospital-level student leaders were significantly higher than the class student leaders; the students that parenting is tough are significantly higher than the students that parents hardly care about.3. College students getting a score above the average level on time management disposition. Among them, getting the highest score in factor of the sense of time value, the rest2factor scores are in the average.Three factors, according to the score from high to low in turn are:the sense of time value, time monitoring concept, self-efficacy of time.4. The differences on demographic variables of the time management disposition and various factors:(1)The score on the dimension of the sense of time value, has won two, three scholarship students was significantly higher than even once only two, three scholarships for students and never get any scholarship students.(2) The score on the dimension of time monitoring concept, the number of first-class scholarship students was significantly higher than only won once abroad students and never won the scholarship students; many times to get two, three scholarships significantly higher than only won a second, third class scholarship students and students never get any scholarship students;(3) The score on the dimension of self-efficacy of time, students that their parents divorced are significantly lower than the parents do not divorce; many times to obtain a and other scholarship students was significantly higher than only won once abroad students and never won the scholarship students; many times two, three scholarships for students significantly higher than only won once two third-class scholarship student and never get any scholarship students.5. The score in learning procrastination of the college students are in medium level, grade one students are significantly lower than grade two and grade three and grade four students; for field advanced students significantly lower than has never received any advanced title.6. College students’ learning initiative and time management disposition and learning procrastination are related significantly. Learning initiative has a significant negative prediction function to learning procrastination; Time management disposition has a significant negative predictive effect to learning procrastination; Learning initiative has a significant positive prediction function to time management disposition.7. Time management disposition plays an intermediary role between learning initiative and learning procrastination.
