The ability of the debate is highly valued since ancient times. During thespring and autumn period, the stratums of scholar were perpendicular andhorizontal and pointed to our mountains and rivers in political and diplomaticfields. Su Qin and Zhang Yi′s strategies of vertical and horizontal alliancedecided who rules over man’s destiny in the Chinese territory.The importance of oral communication teaching is self-evident, it is theneeds of the development of modern society;the needs of future survivaland development of the students; the needs of promoting the development ofthe students’ overall good qualities; and the needs of improving the capacitiesof reading and writing. However, the situation of the teaching of oralcommunication is a bit worrying. By author’s interviews, oral communicationis found that has been in a state of an afterthought during the languageteaching in high school.The analysis of the new curriculum standards for high school language, oralcommunication, as well as on the basis of studies of oral communication inthe current the PEP high school language textbooks, this thesis put forwardsteaching strategies in order to arouse the importance about the oralcommunication during the language teaching to improve the level of teachingoral communication.Through analysis, we find that the new curriculum standards for high school language emphasis that the thinking plays an important of role in oralcommunication, emphasis emotional attitude and values in oralcommunication, especially the cultivation of psychological qualities, focus onsituational role in oral communication, but the assessment of oralcommunication is vague. The writing of Oral communication in the currentthe PEP high school language teaching is in conformity with the relevantprovisions of the curriculum standards. The vast majority of oralcommunication activities are carried out in a specific context. However somerelevant knowledge about emotional attitude in oral communication ispenetrated, but is not specific enough and detailed; the knowledge of oralcommunication in textbooks is fragmented and does not form a system, theevaluation of oral communication also exists some problems.According to the characteristics of oral communication, combining with theresearches of previous scholars, and basing on the analysis of the textbooks,the author asked the following teaching strategies: by strengthening thecultivation of the quality of thinking (that is profound thinking, flexibility,uniqueness, critical and agility), increasing the level of spoken; variety ofmeans to create the situation that is close to life, such as the languagedescription, the role set, multimedia technology to stimulate students’interest in learning; using teaching materials to build recitation, speech,debate training system; and the same time enriching teaching materials,including the training of psychological quality and the cultivation of Body Language and to strengthen spoken anxious Communication throughextra-curricular activities and social practice training. The evaluation of theoral communication is a problem of the oral communication teaching, Ibelieve that the evaluation of oral communication should follow theprinciples of combination of the qualitative evaluation and quantitativeevaluation and the combination of formative assessment and summativeassessment.Because of limited Personal knowledge and capacity, some mature ideasin this article are for reference only. Only by my own poor work, I want tocause the awareness of the importance of oral communication.
