The new curriculum standard not only emphasizes on representing the mathematical results as knowledge skills but also paying attention to the existing experience of students and enabling students to abstract the math problems and construct the mathematical model based on the experience from the actual background. Creating the mathematics situation that related to the students’life has become more and more important, which should be taken into consideration in priority by mathematics teachers. Furthermore, in terms of small class teaching, many researches have shown that the result of small class teaching would be better only when combing the class size reduction with some other more efficient teaching strategies. With the continuous deepening of the new curriculum standard implementation and the boost of small class teaching researches, it has been paid much more attention by teachers who are in the teaching first line that creation can play an important role in representing the mathematics situation with the advantage of small class teaching in classes. In the process of small class teaching, a good classroom teaching situation can inspire the students’interest and thinking to participate in the class efficiently and develop the manipulative ability and application consciousness of students. In addition, the students’ ability of innovation and cooperation with others can be increased so that the small class teaching efficiency can be improved.This paper aims at describing the significance of creating mathematics situation under the condition of small class teaching and the principle and types of creation by combing the Piaget’s constructivism learning theory, modern education construction theory, situated learning theory and the theory of multiple intelligence on the basis of creating the situation and small class teaching researches both domestic and abroad. Besides, this paper has explored to create different mathematics situations in the condition of small class teaching, which is under the guidance of the new curriculum standard and from the view of the characteristics of the mathematics subject. Types of situation that can better express the advantages of small class teaching include ’activity practice’teaching situation,’interactive learning’ teaching situation,’team competition’ teaching situation, and the ’network cooperation’ teaching situation. Finally, the problems and relative simple strategy to solve the problems of creating mathematics teaching situation under the small class condition will be demonstrated based on my own research.At present, many scholars have been focusing on mathematics situation teaching and create research and small class teaching research. However, there are few researches to combine the both. The author hopes this paper can paly a valuable role for the preliminary exploration and look forward to more mathematics teaching scholars and teachers will have deeper researches on this subject.
