In recent years, Zhongshan municipal Party committee, municipal government have thoroughly implemented the Outline of the Plan for Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta and have already put forward the strategic objective of giving priority to the development of modern tourism industry, which provides a good opportunity to development of tourism in Zhongshan. In2007, Zhongshan municipal Party committee, municipal government put forward the plan of extraordinary development in vocational education and decided to spend1.5billion RMB on vocational education in the next three years to make it larger and more powerful. The rapid development of tourism in Zhongshan and the emphasis of the government on vocational education not only pose new requirement and task to the reform and development of secondary vocational education of tourism, but also bring vitality to it.This paper, by using methods of literature, survey, interview and so on, from the point of current situation of human resource in tourism industry and its demand in Zhongshan, summarizes the basic condition of secondary vocational education and analyzes the existing problem. Also, from the following four aspects of establishing secondary vocational education system adapt to tourism development in Zhongshan, enhancing curriculum and teaching reform, improving students’ ability to serve tourism, fastening the construction of tourism’s training base of secondary vocational education, strengthening the construction of full-time and part-time faculty, countermeasures adapt to the development of secondary vocational education of tourism in Zhongshan are put forward in this paper to give their full play to serve the development of tourism and economics of Zhongshan.
