In order to meet the needs of the information society and a new round of curriculum reform in our country’s request, the status of rural area middle school information technology education attention, we through field visits, questionnaires, seminars and other forms of rural areas, the typical representative of the city of Shishou6rural middle schools in survey research. Investigation on the stage, we through the literature research, access to the United States, Britain, Japan and other countries of the education of information technology development history and current situation, including the national policy, implementation steps, achieved significant results and the significance of the implementation. At the same time, the development of information technology curriculum in China is also studied, analysis and comparison of development stages including curriculum teaching and computer courses; access to the current teaching courses in information technology. Then in6rural middle schools to carry out targeted research activities and combining the current situation facing the information technology education in rural schools, survey carried out in four directions:information technology teacher’s information technology infrastructure, staff, students of information technology curriculum view, information technology curriculum teaching evaluation. Therefore we design "information technology curriculum present situation investigation questionnaire" teachers and students, the information technology teacher interview outline, with the lecture method, were studied in this investigation. Survey showed that:the low status of rural middle school information technology teachers, the amount of labor of teachers in information technology, information technology curriculum evaluation system of information technology curriculum is relatively weak subjects, not perfect, infrastructure construction, light weight maintenance information technology teachers and other prominent sex ratio. Investigation and draws the preliminary conclusion:unfavorable factors of infrastructure of information technology in rural schools, and lack of maintenance resource construction is relatively backward, information technology teachers quality is relatively poor, the school leaders do not pay attention to. It is worth mentioning that rural students have great interest in information technology, information technology teacher has some urgent psychological and enterprising consciousness and so on, these are the advantages of rural schools. The research gives the following suggestions:strengthen the rural area school information technology investment, speed up the information technology teacher professional development, strengthen the cultivation of students’good learning habits, to explore the information technology classroom teaching mode of diversity.There are still some deficiencies of this research:part of the test the design of the questionnaire survey is not rigorous, reliability and validity of data remains to be tested; the object of information technology in rural areas the number of teachers rarely choose Co., in a word, through this activity has a lot of experience, to provide experience and reference for the research in the future.
