As China’s economic and employment structure has been divided, in many areas a large number of high-level talents are needed. More and more attention has been paid to Master of professional degree Education. But there are problems with the professional degree in China. They can’t exactly meet the need of the society. Many problems need to be dealt with. So it is urgently needed to make systematic and thorough research for the education about masters of professional degree. In contrast, master of professional degree education in the U.S. has played a significant role for American economic growth and social development, which can provide positive advices and policies for china’s master of professional degree education. The dissertation aims to put forward inspiration for china’s master of professional degree education reform, by analyzing four factors of America’s master of professional degree education, which are education objectives, enrollment, and education pattern and quality assessment.This paper firstly studies the historical development of America’s master of professional degree education by historical analysis. On the basis of its development situation, the historical development is divided to three phases, which are starting, developing and growing stages. And detailed analyses are used for each stage’s historical background and developing features. Then, on studying especially each factor of the training modes of America’s master of professional degree education, from the four aspects training objectives, enrollment, training pattern and quality assessment on, profoundly research the training modes. Following that are summarizing and concluding characteristics of the training modes of America’s master of professional degree education, which are strict entrance requirement, obvious internationality, definite training objectives, vivid training characteristic, diversity training way, sophisticated teachers and impartial quality assessment system. Finally it is concluded that revelations can help to reform our country’s master of professional degree. Comparing the characteristics of U.S. and the problems of china, some benefit experiences are obtained from the America’s training mode.
