A long historical process builds content-rich, profound, highly aesthetic value ofChinese national folk music culture. However, various reasons cause the lack ofChinese national music education in society today. Despite years of educationaladministrative departments at all levels made many attempts on this, but the actualTeaching Effect of music education with little success, students’ overall sense ofidentity is not strong on folk music. I think that this phenomenon is because of thelack of an effective national music teaching theoretical support, lack of effectiveteaching strategies. So in this social background, this Papers use “FOLK SONG PIAOXIANG” as an example, which is from the four unit in the second term of sixth yearsof Shanghai edition Music teaching book, to explore the situational teaching onfeasibility method of improving the effectiveness of Han Chinese folk music teachingin junior high school; to research if the students’ sense of identity and preferences ofthe Han nationality’s folk songs will be upgraded by situational teaching. Thus toprovide any guide and reference for the development of Chinese folk music at thejunior secondary level.This Study adopts the Educational Action Research Method. The study object is92students in total of four classes of sixth grade in a public middle school in YangpuDistrict of Shanghai, who is in my teaching scope. Researching tools is the HanChinese Folk Music Teaching Lesson plans, which are designed according to China’sethnomusicology, situational teaching theory, theory of effective teaching-relatedknowledge, combined with the students the actual situation. I conducted a studyon the object for a three-week classroom teaching, as well as measurement oftwo-week investigation, from September2012to October2012, and supplementedwith interviews,to discuss on the change of attitude preference, sense of identityand musical achievements of students after teaching. Measurement results areanalyzed by Spss16.0, using statistical methods including the number of frequencyallocations and percentage average, T tests, paired T test, and summed up and madeconclusion aiming to the interview result with students. Research shows that creating images for life situations, circumstances, subjectsituations, problems situations, emotional situations, and evaluation situations inJunior High School Music Class is necessary for cultivation of students’ sense ofidentity to Han Chinese folk songs and understanding of the musical value andculture connotation of Han Chinese folk music. So, in the new century, folk musicteaching, with science teaching strategies, is the effective way to enable students tounderstand, identify, and inherit of national music culture.
