This study takes the curriculum design of shape dancing course in colleges and universities as the research object, and the students who choose the shape dancing course as public elective course in Fujian University of Technology as the testing object. Base on the full understanding of the shape character of female college students and the problems now existing, this study uses the research methods such as document searching, expert interview, questionnaire survey, experimentation and mathematical statistics to discuss the curriculum design for female college students from the aspect of both theoretical and practical, in order to give better reference to the planning and implementation of the shape dancing course in colleges and universities.Though the research, we know that:(1) To achieve the goal of setting the shape dancing course in colleges and universities need an exact guiding ideology, expression method, and a specific goal. The propose of the course is to let students master the basic knowledge of shape dancing, to know the basic figure-shaping method and the fundamental editing and creative teaching ability of shape dancing. And to arouse the interest and initiative of students and lay the foundation for their life-long exercising, helping them to boost their confidence and forming a good consciousness of the shape beauty.(2) The value orientation of the shape dancing course is to better shape the figure of the female college students and promote a healthier development of their physical and mental health, and show the confident lifestyle and disposition of female college students, to meet the need of the shape-building interest of them and shape the life-long physical ability, and enrich the cultural environment of colleges and universities(3) At present, the shape dancing course is warmly welcomed by the female college students in Fujian. However, there are only25%of totally32colleges and universities in Fujian have this kind of course. And in the colleges that involved in survey, the total class hour of the shape dancing course are mostly32hours,1class per week. The content of the shape dancing course should include basic gesture training, dancing position training, figure-building training and relative theoretical knowledge learning.(4) From the teaching practice of the female students in Fujian University of Technology, we can learn that:the BMI index and the PFB value is less than0.01, which shows a very significant change compared to the before training period; and after training, the average circumference of their chest, waist and seat show reduction at different level, the p value of the three variables are less than001. After training, the head, cervical spine, shoulders and scapula also shows change at different level from the side view and back view, including which, the head and legs shows the smallest change, with the p value of11.1%and cervical spine shows the biggest change, with the p value up to43.3%. Some changes of the indexes are not so evident.Consequently, it is suggested that the top management in colleges and universities should attach more emphasis on shape dancing course and ensure the popularization of this course; every institute of higher learning must strive to enhance the overall aptitude of shape dancing teachers and optimize the structure of the teaching staff; teachers must include30to40minutes of warm-up exercises in the course and focus on the stretching, joggling and relaxing after the exercise. An increase in the contents of theory teaching and suitably raising the training frequency is proposed; as well as the increase in the organizing of shape dancing performances and match practice courses to expand the space for student activities; organize and implement shape dancing courses according to the characteristic in the non-professional nature of regular institutions of higher learning, make spiral penetration by applying simple elements repeatedly and establish a multiple dimension stereo typed assessment system with emphasis on respecting the personality traits of students; devote attention to the body problems of students during their primary and high school years, so as to avoid forming irreversible structural changes.
