Higher vocational education is not only a part of higher education, but also a high-levelvocational.The goal of vocational education is to develop production, service, managementpersonnel that have Skilled talents. Its training model, curriculum system, major setting andteachers team with the general higher education, they have a tremendous difference.Curriculum reform is a core content of deepening education teaching reform,thevocational education’s teaching materials must be based on society requirements forpractitioners quality. But for many years, the vocational education’s course concept is verybackward, commonly use of national and local curriculum. Although it’s very stability, unity,but dull and lag; Although it’s very authority, system, but inhibit the school, teachers andstudents’ initiative and creativity. Vocational colleges proceed the school-based curriculumdevelopment, can better close to the local economy, politics, culture, education level, makethe education really adjust measures to local conditions, inject new vitality to the vocationaleducation. However, the author discovered that the studies of vocational educationschool-based curriculum development are most stayed in its development value, demonstratethe higher vocational education better to develop school-based curriculum compared withthe basic education. Generally speaking, the research of school-based curriculumdevelopment is quite weak. Affected by various limitations, the school-based curriculumdevelopment of higher vocational education have many difficulties.The paper focuses on the study of school-based curriculum development of HigherVocational Schools. With the application of document, questionnaire and interview methods,the dissertation, taking Yangling vocational&technical college as a case study, make aninitial analysis of the development current situation, achievement and shortage in order to findout the source of the problems and providing a few suggestions that the development ofschool-based curriculum development of Higher Vocational Schools can be improved.Moreover, the purpose lying in beneficial reference and exploration of school-basedcurriculum development are offered by the end of the paper.This dissertation is made of six parts, the details are as follows: Part Ⅰ: The first part analyzes the necessity and meaning of this study, gathers andteases apart the document, explain the thinking and methods.Part Ⅱ:There are two parts including the difference among the relative definitions andtheoretical basis and characteristics of the paper.Part Ⅲ:The description of case which contains advantages, background, and generalgoal, operation procedure, teaching staff and feedback and evaluation.Part Ⅳ:The fourth part presents the results and analysis of questionnaire of the case. It isrevealed that the current situation of the school-based curriculum is not ideal. The mainreason can be explained in the following areas, such as students’ deficient understanding,teachers’ low professional qualities, fund shortage, lack of characteristics and so on.Part Ⅴ:The fifth part summarizes the achievement and shortage of the case, accordingto the results above.Part Ⅵ:In terms of the problems presented above, the last part provides the suggestionspromoting the school-based development of Higher Vocational schools.
