Independent institutes, which are highly relevant with the cultivation of talents as wellas the future development of higher education, grow with the development of highereducation. Since the first independent institute was established in1998, the number ofindependent institutes in our country has increase to more than300, and nearly30%of allthe undergraduates are educated by independent institutes at present. Accordingly, thenumber of counselors is increasing as well, making the group building of independentinstitute counselors an urgent task. At the present time, the independent institute counselorsare confronted with the problems of job instability and role confusedness, andconsequently the sustainable development of independent institute counselors is boththeoretically and practically important to optimize student work as well as ideological andpolitical education in independent institutes.This essay is based on the research of ideological and political education, boththeoretically and practically. Research methods such as literature search,comparativeanalysis and follow-up investigation are used. Starting with the concept of independentinstitutes, this essay analyzes the necessity, feasibility, current situation and problems ofthe group building of independent institute counselors, and tries to raise thecountermeasures to solve those problems. Questionnaire survey and chart formulation areused to compare and analyze the current situations between independent institutecounselors and counselors working in other regular institutions of higher learning.Additionally, precious and valid suggestions on how to build a counselor group forindependent institutes are provided in this essay. |
