Evaluation of classroom teaching of ideology and politics is an important aspect of ideological and political teaching. It is hand and carrier to improve classroom teaching efficiency and enhance the level of teachers’classroom teaching. Classroom observation reflects the evaluation requirements of new curriculum reform of politics, which is a new effective method of evaluation. It differs from the traditional evaluation, which is also its biggest bright spots mainly in three aspects:Before class, know what to listen and how to listen; When you listen, know what to focus on and what records; After class, knew what to rests on and to suggests.This new evaluation method which is used in the evaluation of classroom teaching in recent years, although the overall research has reached a certain level, relatively the documents of ideological and political course are few. This paper aimed at studying the application of classroom observation in ideological and political teaching class. By introducing its connotation, characteristics, significance, procedures and so on to introduce the new method into ideological and political course and aimed to make up the shortcomings of traditional evaluation and to build high quality and high efficiency classroom teaching.This paper’s research mainly focuses on the following three parts:Part I:Introduce the concept and features of classroom observation; analyses its particularity in ideological and political teaching class.Part II:Summarize and clarify the significance of classroom observation in ideological and political teaching class, which mainly contains four aspects:First, classroom observation reflected the new curriculum evaluation idea of ideological and political course; Second, it helps the union of the educational theory and education practices;Third,it helps to promote ideological and political teachers’ professional growth;Last but not the least, classroom observation helps to promote students’ all-round development.Part III:Based on the former two parts, combined with practical teaching cases, explored the use of classroom observation in ideological and political teaching class.In general, ideological and political course needs class observation, this new form of class evaluation. But we should be aware of something when use it in ideological and political class.
