At present, the tourism talent market appears a dilemma: on the one hand, thevigorous development of tourism needs a large number of talents with high-qualitiesand skills to meet the market needs; on the other hand, the talents trained withtourism management major are not willing to engaged in the tourism industry. Thestructural imbalance of supply and demand of talent market become the bottleneck ofthe current tourism development in our country. As a subjective intention of a careerchoice, the employment expectations will have a significant impact on employmentbehavior. The unsatisfied employment expectations eventually led to the students oftourist management high attrition rates and low entry. Under the perspective ofstudent employment expectations, and countermeasures, employment standards andguidance are not only benifitial to help students form scientific and reasonableemployment value orientation, the smooth employment, promoting the all-rounddevelopment of talent, but also provide state and local education policy, withtheoretical basis of the reference for the establishment of education measures tocultivate large number of professional talents adapted to tourism industrydevelopment, which will have important inspiration significance on solving theemployment problems of tourism.In order to promote the realization of employment behavior of tourismmanagement in higher vocational school, questionnaires are conducted students fromthe2010session tourism major at four vocational schools in Qinhuangdao are chosenfor the survey. We invtest from the regional industry expectations, hopes and salaryexpectation,in hope of clarifying on the actual view on employment problem oftourism management majors and the presents potential problems in personnel trainingin higher vocational school, which provides suggestions for students and the teachingreform of higher vocational schools. Overall, tourism management students’employment in higher vocational colleges in Qinhuangdao have low employment prospects expectations. Industry employment intention is low. Their employment isdiversification. They tend to make a better choice of employment, urban employment,govenment employment, and high salary employment. In addition, the students’overall comprehensive quality is not high. over-reliance on certificate of industry, andcombined with the poor employment environment, eventually leads to seriousgraduates’" unemployment with position" or " unable to obtain employment ".The research purpose is directing employment expectation and seeking methodsto industry employment difficulties. The expectation theory, demand hierarchy theory,labor market supply and demand theory and labor market segmentation theorysupport the research. Comprehensive solutions are presented from five dimensions ofstudents, schools, government, enterprises and society five dimensions. Based onstudents’ low degree of identity, Students needs to change the employment ideas, andimprove employment ability. Based on the disadvantages of higher vocationaleducation, the school needs to strengthen school-running characteristics, and optimizethe educational system. Based on the the outflow of talent, the enterprise needs toimplement the strategy of people-oriented, and perfect the safeguard mechanism.Based on the beginning of the market development, the government should play aleading role, and optimize industry employment environment. Based on secular bias,the society need to build public opinion environment, and achieve employmentdignity.
