Chinese reading is very important in middle school’s reading teaching. It is students’main ability to attain the knowledge. Chinese reading teaching is not only the foundation of the learning of other subjects, it also promotes the learning of Chinese language and even the students’holistic and lifelong development. Therefore the effectiveness of reading teaching is especially significant. However, due to the backwardness of reading teaching concept, low qualities of teachers, incomprehensive understanding of the New Curriculum Standard and the improper handling of teaching designs and approaches, middle school’s Chinese reading teaching has been trapped in the low or invalid slough for a long time. In the thesis, the author analyzes the specific expressions of the problems mentioned above by using case analysis, and does some research to find out the solutions to the problems by means of the methods of literature and survey. The author thinks the teacher should first try to make a further interpretation of the reading texts to make out effective teaching designs and carries them out. In terms of text interpretation, the author thinks the teacher should interpretate the reading texts systematically rather than depend on teaching references and experiences merely. Second, the teacher should make effective teaching designs according to the spirits of the new curriculum reforms and the present teaching situations, and then put forward some relatively effective teaching models and teaching designs for students to make a reference and thus forms the teachers’individualistic teaching ideas. In order to realize the effectiveness of middle school’s Chinese reading teaching, the theory and practice should be taken into consideration of middle school’s Chinese reading teaching.
