Interpersonal relationships among roommates are one of the mostprevailing, straightforward and important relationships for collegestudents. The students born after1990grow up in an era of deepening reform, economic globalization and cultural diversity. They have practical global values but apparentlyin an utilitarian way. All the unique features will inevitably have effectson the establishment of interpersonal relationships in a dorm. They are: harmonious type; politeand friendly type; separated and loose type; the type featured byindifference and misunderstanding; incompatible and conflicting type. Theproblems like groupuscule, ill competition, cold war and indifferent tocommunication still exist among roommates. The survey has also found outthat interpersonal relationships for the poor students are a big concern. Advantageous family economic supportplus the “four-two-one” family structure have restrained collegestudents’ ability to develop harmonious interpersonal relationships.
