Ye Shengtao in the1940s, first proposed the concept of “read the whole book”,the Language Curriculum Standards also explicitly require students to “read the wholebook”. In order to “read the whole book” significance ideological origins, the impactis clearly demonstrated in front of us, I “read the whole book” information collectionand analysis, last conducted a survey of high school students “read the wholebook”status quo and strategy.This thesis is divided into three parts:The first part is the significance of reading the whole book.“Read the wholebook” in addition to the common meaning of the general reading materials, but alsohas its own unique significance.“Read the whole book” is conducive to adapt to therequirements of quality education to break the limitations of the examination-orientededucation; help to train the students a comprehensive look at the issue of ability toform an overall concept; conducive to reading vision extended to other oreas, not justthe field of literature; conducive to thinking charm of classics students feel theformation of critical thinking; help to improve students’ language literacy, enrich thespiritual world;conducive to scholarly family,scholarly campus,scholarly communitybuilding; favor the classic heritage.The second part is to “read the whole book” ideological origins and impact. Readthe ideological origins of the entire book from reading this book with traditionallanguage education contact, the two major aspects of the eminent personalities ofview to “read the whole book” to analyze. Description “read the whole book” thinkingin the field of language education from their curriculum standards at home and abroad,the textbook its presentation, teaching them reflect to elaborate.The third part is to “read the whole book” survey and strategy.“Read the wholebook”’ survey described the purpose of survey, the course of the investigation,analysis of findings.“Read the whole book”’ strategy from both subjective andobjective interpretation and subjective aspects require students to overcome subjectiveobstacles objective to create a good atmosphere for reading and strengthen theguidance of teachers.
