Narrative ability,also known as the ability to tell stories,is a kind of organized language skill without context.The improvement of narrative ability plays an important role in the development of children’s language skill,especially the oral language skill.It also influence children on the future development in many aspects.The picture book is the primary material for emergent reading,and it is also a suitable form for children to read.Picture book reading for children’s language and development of other aspects has a good role in promoting.In recent years,emerging electronic picture book is the general trend of education and information technology.Therefore,this study used the book reading intervention for 4-5 years old children in different way of picture book reading,trying to explore the impact on 4-5yearsoldchildren’snarrativeability by using different way of reading picture book.In this research,91 normal 4-5 years old children are divided into four groups: read electronic picture book with adult telling,read printed picture book with adult telling,read electronic picture book independently and the control group.The children of experimental group are carried out twice a week,each time 20-30 minutes,for 8 weeks of the picture book reading activities.Three experimental groups used different way to read picture book,and the children of control group do not read any picture books.Compare four groups and the score before and after experiment to see if it works.According to this research,some findings were as follows:1.Three Different ways of picture book reading will all promote the 4-5 years old children’s narrative ability;2.Reading electronic picture book and printed picture book with adult telling is better thanreading electronic picture book independently;3.Reading electronic picture book with adult telling and reading printed picture book with adult telling have the same impact on promoting the narrative ability of 4-5 years old children;4.For different way of reading picture book,there is no gender difference in children’s narrative ability.According to the result of experiment,the researcher explored the causes of the differences,and give some suggestions as following:1.The manufacturers of electronic picture book should to improve the production and quality of the electronic picture;2.Putting the different ways of reading picture book into the kindergarten teaching activities organically;3.Parents should do more parent-child interactive picture book reading activities with children.
