The idea,reading the whole book,is earliest put forward by the educator Ye shengtao.But it is used for class after the new curriculum reform that put forward to attach importance to cultivate the students' interest in the extensive reading,so students can read all kinds of books to open their eyes.At the same time,students should do less homework,read more and good books,In particular,they need careful read a whole book.In the Standard high school Chinese curriculum(2017 edition),reading the whole book has been considered as a learning task,which mainly construct the students' reading experience about the whole book and enrich students' spiritual world.However,the current high school students are passive and passive in the whole book reading,which needs to be changed.Firstly,in terms of reading purposes,most student intend to cope with examination rather than interest to improve Chinese accomplishment.Next,In terms of reading quantity,In terms of reading quantity,the new curriculum standard requires a minimum of 1.5 million words for students to achieve.But it is nearly impossible.Lastly in the process of reading,We find that students cannot read successfully for the following reasons-lack the strong interest,an inflexible reading method and lack of timely reading evaluation.Therefore,in this thesis the author surveys the reading situation about high school students through questionnaire and interview.What' more,this paper mainly analyzes the reasons why students have trouble in reading the whole book.And proposes the feasible solution to these specific problems.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction which mainly explains the origin of the research,significance of topic selection,research thoughts and methods,literature review and so on.The second part mainly defines the basic concepts and theoretical basis of the research,including the whole book,the reading of the whole book,and the guiding strategy and discusses the reading psychology of high school students,the characteristics of reading the whole book and the significance of reading the whole book.All of these knowledge not only can form a basic theoretical understanding of the whole book,but also can construct the overall understanding of the whole book and the necessity of the research of this thesis.The third part is to investigate the current situation of the whole book reading in the form of questionnaire,and to analyze the reasons for the present situation.The survey finds that there are major problems with reading the entire book.At first,students,teachers and parents have a bias towards reading propose.They think that reading should be professional,that is to say,to get a high scores in the exam students have to read,and parents are allowed them to read.Secondly,there is lack of proper reading environment in class,school,family and society.Finally because of a single reading method,students have no lasting interest in reading habit which affects the reading effect in the long time.The fourth part puts forward the whole book reading strategy,including reading environment construction,the establishment of reading purposes,selection and application of reading methods,the cultivation of reading habit,reading ability promotion and so on,which cultivate students' reading interest and improve their reading quality.The fifth part mainly reflects the shortcomings of the research and the areas to be improved.At the end of the thesis,author also puts forward the innovative idea of reading the whole book in high school.Author hopes that the whole book can enter the school classroom and help students improve their reading quality.
