Improve the students’ scientific literacy has become the core goal of internationalscience curriculum reform. Therefore, cultivating the students’ scientific literacy hasalways been the core of science curriculum reform. In the new round of curriculumreform, physics curriculum standard of our country has also emphasized the need toimprove all students’ scientific literacy as the general goals for the course. HPS(History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science) is the abbreviation of the history ofscience, philosophy of science and sociology of science. As a new idea of thescientific education guiding ideology HPS is based on the constructivism. Its coreconnotation is about the understanding of the nature of science. How to realize theHPS effective permeability in science education, scholars have put forward the HPSteaching mode, this teaching model to improve the implementation of scienceeducation and science literacy produced a huge role in many developed countries andwas introduced science teaching system.Physical education is an important part ofscience education, So applying the HPS teaching mode in physics teaching plays avery important role in improving the students’ scientific literacy.This paper uses the method of literature reviewed the research status anddevelopment trend of the HPS teaching model at home and abroad, While combingthe constructivist learning theory, humanistic learning theory, HPS, got them toscience education, physics teaching, scientific literacy enlightenment. And on thisbasis, discusses how HPS teaching model applied to physics teaching as well as in theuse of attention to the problem, analyzed secondary school physics teachingobjectives and principles of HPS teaching model-based. On the basis of theoreticalresearch, we designed three teaching cases and analyzed them. Finally, the authoranalyzes the HPS teaching mode physics teaching in secondary schools to implementthe existing difficulties, according to the difficulties as well as through theimplementation of the above theories and case studies made severalrecommendations.
