In today’s world, science and technology develop so rapidly that the exchanges and cooperation between countries becomes much closer. At the same time, the competition between countries has become fierce, and all the essence of the competition is talented person’s competition, so every country attaches great importance to the cultivation of the talent to improve the whole quality of citizens. Scientific literacy, as an important part of the quality of citizens, must be paid enough attention to. Because of the development of science and technology and the updated knowledge today, citizens must possess the necessary scientific literacy to meet the requirement of social development. According to related survey, however, our country citizen’s scientific literacy level is relatively low. It is already an urgent task in front of us to improve the citizen’s scientific literacy. School education has a great effect on improving people’s scientific literacy. If school education attaches importance to the scientific literacy cultivation of students, people’s scientific literacy will improve greatly. This paper analyses and summarizes the domestic and foreign research situation about the scientific literacy. I make a survey on the scientific literacy of Senior Grade One students and propose three physical teaching strategies to develop students’ scientific literacy according to the connotation of scientific literacy and related research, combined with my own teaching practice. It also illustrates how to apply these strategies to specific teaching cases and the teaching practice. The rudimentary feedback information from the interview with the students shows that these teaching strategies have achieved a positive effect, and have greatly improved the students’ scientific literacy.
