As a famous writer, educator, editor and publisher, Ye Shengtao is a prominentexpert in education circles. In his past70years of education practicing, he conductedseveral educational reforms against Chinese teaching. His masterpieces are essencesand priceless spiritual wealth of different ages. Researches of predecessors are allthough studying and analyzing of Ye’s education papers, speeches, literary works,magazines and reading materials. Based on research of predecessors, I personallyinterpreted his diaries deeply and systematical review the basic views. At the sametime, I summarized the realistic meaning of Ye’s educational ideology and inspirationon modern teaching and education.In the first part, this paper focus on summary of Ye’s diaries, in which initial year,reason of diary keeping, missing reasons and life in his diaries such as Diary of YeShengtao, Westbound Diary, Diary back from East, Northbound Diary.The second and third parts are essences of this paper. In the second part, wefocus on analysis of Chinese teaching ideology in the diaries. We divided this part intothree sub-parts. In the first sub-part, the main content is ideology of Chinese teachingmaterials. I analyze the following four subjects: article sourcing, material sourcing,verifying and publishing; in the second sub-part, I focus on ideology of writingteaching, analyzing sourcing ideology, editing ideology, habit forming of writing andreading. In the third sub-part, I focus on ideology of writing conduct. In the fourthsub-part, I emphasize on the ideology of preparation before teaching.In the third part, emphasis is laid on ideology of Chinese teaching reforms. Thesecond part also includes three sub-parts. The first sub-part is about ideology ofChinese teacher. Ye believe that the teacher must be aware of the purpose of educationand improve his own teaching quality. The second sub-part is about ideology ofeducating people with Chinese. The third sub-part is about opposing against purepursuit of enrollment rate.Ye’s ideology is so prominent in the last100years. We can push the developmentof Chinese education by studying of Ye’s ideology.
